This year, for the first time in our continent, a para-archery competition circuit, known as the Americas Para Cup, will be held.
“The basis of the project has been the proposal of our Para-Archery Committee” commented Sergio Font, Secretary General of World Archery Americas.
In recent years, World Archery Americas has strengthened its Para-Archery Committee both in membership and with the presence of qualifiers and athletes.
A key area that was missing was the creation of more events in our continent in this branch of the sport that would give the opportunity for the athletes of the Americas to grow, similar to what the continental federations of Asia and Europe do.
With this in mind, it was proposed that in this first edition of the circuit, the Cup would have two stages, the first from July 16 to 20 in Morelia, Mexico, and the second from August 27 to 31 in Chicago, United States.
The circuit will be open to any athlete who wishes to participate and has a valid international classification card.
It will be possible to compete in the recurve, compound and w1 categories, both senior and under 21, plus the VI (visually impaired) categories.
