The final of the Archery World Cup was held on October 19 and 20 in Tlaxcala, Mexico.
Mexican and double Olympic medalist Alejandra Valencia was once again on the podium in the recurve women’s competition, this time with the bronze medal.
Her first match was not an easy one as she faced the current Olympic champion Lim Sihyeon from Korea.
The match was very close and although it seemed that both archers were tied at the end of the last set, one of Lim’s arrows failed to touch the line, which gave the victory to the Mexican 6 points set to 4.
In the semifinals, Valencia faced Deepika Kumari of India, who won the match 6-4.
In the final for bronze, Valencia faced once again a Korean, this time it was against Jeon Hunyoung.
Valencia managed to defeat her in the fourth set 6-2 to finish in third place.
Another Mexican competing in this category was Angela Ruiz who finished in seventh position.
