With a total of 13 medals, including 6 gold, Brazil took first place in the medal count at the 2026 Para South American Games in Valledupar in the para archery discipline.
Fifty athletes from 8 countries participated in this competition: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, and, of course, Brazil.
This is the first time archery has been part of the sports program for these games, featuring seven individual events and six team events in the recurve, compound, W1, and visually impaired categories.
Brazil swept all the W1 titles with Eugenio Santana Franco and Juliana Cristina Ferreira da Silva, who won the gold medals in the individual and mixed team events.
Gustavo Mendes de Araujo took the victory in the visually impaired category, while in the compound women’s event, Jane Karla Gogel was crowned champion.
Gogel, alongside Helena Nunes de Moraes—who won the individual silver medal—took the podium in the compound women’s doubles.

The host country, Colombia, finished second in the medal count with 12 medals, four of which were gold.
Of those four, Héctor Julio Ramírez won three: the recurve men’s recurve individual title, the men’s doubles alongside Jairo Fabián Burgos Rincón, and the mixed team title with Maira Mosquera Rocha.
Both Burgos and Mosquera won silver medals in the recurve individual events.
Colombia’s last gold medal came in the mixed compound team event with Ariana Correa and Cristian David Correa Alvaran.
The remaining three gold medals went to Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela.
Ecuador’s Joffre Javier Villavicencio won the gold medal in the compound men’s event, and Peru’s Daniela Campos Marzano claimed the title in the recurve women’s category.
Finally, Venezuela’s Edixon Parada and Nelson Rodríguez were crowned champions in the compound men’s doubles.
The archery competition in Valledupar took place from July 12 to 15.
