Brazil topped the medal table at the Asuncion 2025 Pan American Junior Games with three golds and a total of four medals.

This second edition of the Games, held in Paraguay, was attended by 23 countries, four more than at the previous edition in Cali in 2021.

Two Brazilians were crowned champions in the individual competitions.

Isabelle Trindade Estevez Pereira won gold in the recurve women’s event against Canada’s Janna Hawash 6-2.

In the compound men’s event, Rafael Magalhaes Moreira defeated Mexico’s Lot Maximo Méndez Ortiz for gold with a final score of 144-142.

Brazil’s third gold medal came in the recurve men’s team competition.

Leonardo da Silva Oliveira and Miguel Pereira dos Santos defeated Guatemala 6-0.

 

In addition to Brazil, Mexico and Colombia also won four medals.

Mexico took two golds in the team competition. The first was in the compound mixed team event.

Méndez Ortiz and Adriana Castillo defeated the United States team 153-140 points.

The second gold medal for Mexico was in the recurve women’s team event. Ángela Ruiz and Naomi Lilian Aguilar Cerecedo defeated the Brazilians with tiebreaker arrows 18-14 points.

Colombia’s gold medal was in the mixed recurve team event with Tania Arias and Javier Leonardo Carrillo Santos, who defeated the United States 6-2.

 

The other two gold medals in the individual competitions went to Guatemala and Ecuador. Guatemalan Cristian Esthephen García, who ranked 14th in the recurve men’s qualifiers, faced Andrés Hernández of Colombia for the gold medal. García won the match 6-4.  

In the compound women’s competition, Blanca Maritza Rodrigo Bueno of Ecuador took the victory by defeating Castillo of Mexico for the gold medal 146-141.
