Braden Gellenthien of the United States took the bronze medal in Lausanne, Switzerland at the first Indoor World Series competition of the year.
The Swiss Open was held November 1-3 and featured 21 athletes from the Americas from Bermuda, Canada, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico and the United States.
Gellenthien started the competition with very promising scores.
In the qualifier he was just one point shy of the top score and placed first in the compound men’s event with 599 points.
He lost the semifinal to Mike Schloesser of the Netherlands 149-148, who went on to win the gold.
In the bronze final, the American faced Nicolas Girard of France and this time Gellenthien took the win 149-148.

Another American to take home a medal was Reza Zamaninejad in the compound 50+ men’s category.
Zamaninejad faced Alexander Jagusch of Germany in the final for the gold.
Both archers tied with 143 points in the last end and both shot a 9 in the tie-breaking arrow, however the German’s arrow was closer to the center which gave him the victory.

In the compound women’s category, Paige Pearce of the United States made it to medal contention.
She faced Tanja Gellenthien for the bronze medal, but Gellenthien, like her husband, took the win.
Pearce finished in fourth place.
