The first Youth Parapan American Games in our continent will take place in the city of Santiago de Chile in November.
“The inclusion of archery in the Games is a very important step on the road towards incorporating young para-athletes into the practice of our sport,” commented World Archery Americas Secretary General Sergio Font.
Para-archers born in 2005 or later will be eligible to compete in this event that will have a total of 36 places for recurve and compound bows, both female and male.
The competition will be held at 18 meters and will include a qualifying round on the 2nd of November, individual and mixed team eliminations on the 3rd, and will conclude with the individual medal finals on the 4th.
“These archers will be the relay of the best archers that today represent the continent in international events” said Font.
How to qualify
Archers wishing to participate in these Games, in addition to being born in 2005 or later, must have a current international classification card.
The first 24 places will be won in the First Stage of the Americas Para Cup to be held in Morelia, Mexico, July 16-20.
There will be 3 places per mixed team and 3 individual places for each gender in both recurve and compound.
This event will be the only qualifying event for the Games.
