Americans James Lutz and Brady Ellison won the Indoor Archery World Series this weekend.
The World Series finals were held in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, February 3 in the main arena of the Vegas Shoot.
James Lutz was crowned champion in the compound men’s after defeating world number one Mike Schlosser by one point in the final end 149-148.
“Every match against Mike is gonna be really hard,” said Lutz. “It’s just another good match that we had and I finally won my way for once.”
Brady Ellison also defeated the world number one – Brazil’s Marcus D’Almeida – to take the men’s recurve title.
“It’s been a while since I’ve won this one,” said Ellison. “To shoot the way I’ve been shooting in my basement and bring it here to the final is awesome.”
Ellison shot four consecutive perfect scores before taking the 6-2 victory.
Casey Kaufhold of the United States faced Michelle Kroppen of Germany in the recurve women’s gold final. Kroppen took the title in the fifth set 6-4.
In compound women’s, Paige Pearce of the United States defeated Mexico’s Andrea Maya Becerra 145-143 in the bronze medal match.
