The Traditional Vegas Shoot celebrated its 60th birthday with a magnificent event attended by over 3 thousand archers; the greatest numbers coming from sixteen countries in the Americas: Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, the British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and a large contingent from the 50 states of the United States.

The competition consisted of three rounds of 30 arrows each shot at 18 meters over three consecutive days. The compound archers shot on regular recurve faces with a 4cm ten ring.

Thirty-seven compound men shot perfect 900-point scores and went to an exciting shoot-off series of three-arrow ends. Mike Scholesser of the Netherlands won the compound men title for the third time by not missing the ten-ring in any shoot-off ends.

The size of the ten was gradually reduced from 4cm to 2 cm (official World Archery tenpoint ring for the compound) and then to a special Vegas 1.5 cm ten. In this battle for a 50.000 USD prize, Schloesser was followed by second and third finishers from the US Matthew Burns and Bodie Turner.

Five compound women shot the maximum score as well. The shoot-off ends served to break to tie and to allocate first, second and third positions to Ella Gibson (GBR), Alexis Ruiz and Julia Rives (both from the USA), respectively.

The Championship Recurve Men event was once again dominated by Brady Ellison (USA), followed by Marcus D’Almeida (BRA) and Santiago Arcila from Colombia.

Casey Kaufhold (USA), Catalina GNoriega (USA) and Gabriela Schloesser (NED) won the top three places in the Recurve Women event.
