Brazil’s Graziela Paulino dos Santos won the gold medal at the second event of the Grand Prix of the Americas, held from 17 to 23 May in Santiago, Chile.
In the recurve women’s final, Dos Santos faced local archer Javiera Andrades.
With a clear lead in every set, the Brazilian managed to defeat the Chilean 6-0.
Dos Santos also won the gold medal at the South American Championships the day before in Santiago.
In the recurve men’s category, Oscar Ticas took gold by defeating Pablo Ricardo Toral Pérez of Ecuador 6-4.
Another Salvadoran to secure victory at the Grand Prix was Douglas Nolasco in the compound men’s category.
Nolasco won the gold medal final by a single point against Alejandro Patricio Martin Arriagada of Chile, 145–144.
Blanca Rodrigo of Ecuador, who qualified in first place, won gold in the compound women’s event against South American champion Beatriz Aliaga of Peru 145-143.
In the barebow category, Denis Esteban Castellanos of Argentina defeated Luis Riccardi of Uruguay in the men’s final with a score of 7-1.
In the women’s final, Ana Moya triumphed over María José Arce of Chile with a score of 6-0.
