Mexico’s Matias Grande won the fourth stage of the Archery World Cup in Madrid.
It is the first time he wins gold in the world circuit, surpassing his result in Shanghai, where he won silver.
In the recurve men’s final he faced France’s Baptiste Addis; after beating Korea’s Kim Je Deok 6-4 in the semifinals.
I had already put in a lot of effort,” said Grande. This time I wanted to make my own path, I really enjoyed it and I was able to get this result.
Grande won the gold medal in the third set by 6-0, with 30,29 and 29 points.
With this victory, the Mexican qualified for the final of the World Cup, to be held in Nanjing in October.
